The international news agency “Rossiya Segodnya” with the assistance of the Center for Labor Market Research presented the ranking of Russia’s top universities in 2018.

The study was carried out as part of the Social Navigator project and included 444 state, municipal and private universities from 81 regions: engineering (126), classical (87), agricultural (56), humanitarian (68), medical (48) and as well as universities from the sphere of management (59).

The University of Tyumen ranked 11th position among classical universities. The percentage of graduates who received a job placement is high – 94.4%, which is 6.5 points higher than in 2017. The share of research funds in the university budget remained at the same level – 15.9%. The science citation index is 15, one point higher than last year.

“We believe that the number of indicators should be minimal but they should reflect the chosen area of the university’s activity – the production of an educational, developmental and scientific product that is in demand.

The universities ranking is designed to reflect the quality of vocational education,” says the Social Navigator project website.

More than 13 thousand Ugra residents visited XXIII exhibition “Goods of Ugra land”, which worked for three days in the city of Khanty-Mansiysk. This year, 219 companies from 21 municipalities of Ugra, as well as representatives of the Union “Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)” presented their achievements and novelties at the exhibition.

“Over 23 years, the exhibition has proved to be not only a fair of products of local producers, but also has acquired the format of a forum — a platform for business communication. More than 13,000 people visited pavilions of “Ugra – Expo” these days. The exhibition has become an event that is already included in the calendar of tourist events,” Nikolai Milkis, Director of the Economic Development Department and Deputy Governor of Ugra, said at the closing ceremony.

He also noted that this year, within the framework of the exhibition-forum, visiting meeting of the Market Council of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation took place. Vice-President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Elena Dybova made a presentation of the All-Russian project “AGRO“ For Quality! ”.

“The main objective of the project is to fill the market with quality food. Participation in the exhibition makes it possible not only to declare its presence in the market of commodity producers, but also to get professional contacts, expand sales, and watch competitors,” Deputy Governor said.

This year, the exhibition-forum “Goods of Ugra land” had several specific features. For the first time it was held under the brand “Made in Ugra” and 84 enterprises received the trademark of the same name.

Also for the first time, the exhibition organizers presented a commemorative plaque “Mentor of the Year” to manufacturers which have been contributing to the development of entrepreneurial activity for 20 years or more. Among the seven awarded are the national enterprise “Elal” (Berezovsky district), “Sever” Fashion Factory (Nefteyugansk), “Volna” agricultural and fishery cooperative society (Nefteyugansky district). Commemorative plaque “Entry-level Entrepreneur” was presented to 7 beginnrs- commodity producers of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Ugra, which got successful and vivid reputation. Among them are peasant farms of Kazbek Khinchagov from the Beloyarsky District, Dmitry Kaptsov from the Nefteyugansky District, and Ivan Salyamkin from the Nizhnevartovsky District.

Nikolay Milkis also presented awards to the winners of the festival-competition of municipalities “The Best of the Best”. The diploma of I degree, the winner’s cup was presented to municipality of the city of Megion. In addition, Megion received a special prize from the TV and radio company “Ugra” – a certificate for participation in the television program “Made in Ugra”.

Traditional festival – competition of municipalities “The Best of the Best” was held during all three days of the exhibition. Delegations of municipalities participated in business program of the forum, performed with creative, concert programs. Everyone tried to adequately, creatively present a work of their city or district. In addition to the winners, each of the participants was awarded a special diploma. For example, the Berezovsky District received the diploma in the nomination “For National Color”, Surgutsky District was awarded as the “flagship of the agro-industrial complex”, a diploma was prsented to the Sovietsky District for a successful start, and the Khanty-Mansiysk District was awarded a special diploma in the “Preservation of folk arts and crafts” nomination.

Also within the framework of the forum, a contest was held within 3 days: tasting of products of agricultural producers and producers of food products of Ugra “National recognition 2018”. The competition included nominations “Bakery and confectionery”, “Sausages”, “Milk and dairy products”, “Fish products”, “Wild plants”.

As a result, the best bread from rye flour is baked in the city trade center of Beloyarsky, the best smoked sausage is produced in Surgut (Surgut meat factory), the most delicious milk and sour cream are produced in KFH of Fedor Churilovich from the village of Dalniy, Kondinsky district, and the best marinated white mushrooms harvested in Kondinsky district (enterprise “Region-K”), salted milk mushrooms – in the city settlement Sovetsky (enterprise “Alex”).

The farm of Fedor Churilovich received five diplomas, three more than last year. Top places for sour cream, milk and dairy products. The company is located in the village Dalniy of Kondinsky district.

“My wife Elena and I have a family business, we breed cattle, we produce milk, dairy and meat products. My wife is manufacturing engineer and my most important assistant. The farm employs 81 people. We develop production, we work with interest, try to produce high-quality, tasty products,” Fedor Churilovich said. According to him, farmers, entrepreneurs from Kondinsky district should naturally lead in the production of food, because it is the most ecologically clean region rich in natural resources, the bread basket of Ugra. By the way, in the family of an entrepreneur there are five children, the eldest of whom is 13 years old.

Another successfully developing enterprise of the Kondinsky district is from the Mezhdurechensky urban-type settlement – “Region-K”, headed by Vasily Novoselov. This year, the family business again took first place in the nomination “Wild plants”. Last year, Region-K received a certificate from the Kingdom of Thailand for the supply of Ugra delicacies to Southeast Asia. Company’s products: red bilberries, cloudberries, cranberries, blueberries, swamp blueberries in sugar included in the “Made in Ugra” gift set for the President of the Russian Federation.

“We are engaged in picking, harvesting and processing of wild plants. We produce 35 types of jam. Today Region-K has industrial production. Any volume of goods can be delivered wherever the consumer wants. We are probably the only enterprise in the field of wild plants in the agro-industrial complex of Ugra, which exports its products. We consistently expand supply. This year, our products under the brand “Made in Ugra” are purchased by Kazakhstan, a month ago we sent the first batch of products to Azerbaijan. Center for support of Ugra export facilitates our work in this direction,” Vasily Novoselov, director of Region-K enterprise, said.

The Arc7 tankers of the Yamal LNG project, which Russian gas producer Novatek is implementing jointly with its foreign partners, can be allowed to carry liquefied natural gas along the Northern Sea Route. Instructions to this effect are being coordinated and will be submitted to the government for approval by the end of the year, Transport Minister Yevgeny Ditrikh said.

“As per your instructions issued in the Far East, we have discussed Novatek’s proposals regarding the vessels which were being built before the adoption of the law on coastal shipping [that prohibits the use of ships flying foreign flags. — Ed.],” Ditrikh said at a meeting on Arctic development chaired by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

“These proposals concern 15 tankers that were built at foreign shipyards. We have drafted a government instruction concerning them. It is being coordinated now for submission to the government by the end of the year,” the transport minister said.

Novatek CEO Leonid Mikhelson noted that they had asked for a three-year permit for 15 Arc7 tankers. “We have asked Mr. Ditrikh that the permits for the chartered tankers be issued for a three-year period, and we have also discussed this at a meeting with [Deputy Prime Minister Maxim] Akimov. Our request specifically concerns three-year permits,” the Novatek CEO said.

Mikhelson told the media back in August that they had asked the Transport Ministry not to restrict the issue of Northern Sea Route permits to Russian tankers only, because the recent amendments to the Merchant Shipping Code precluded the use of the 15 foreign gas tankers for carrying LNG from the Yamal project.

Later in August, Dmitry Medvedev instructed the Transport Ministry and the Industry and Trade Ministry to analyze by September 10 the issue of the coastal shipping of LNG and gas condensate by foreign-flag ships. In October, the government instructed the two ministries to prepare proposals by November 20 on the delivery of LNG by sea from Novatek’s projects.

The Russian Biathlon Union will support the application of the Tyumen region for hosting the Champions Race in April 2019.

This decision was taken at the business meeting of Governor of the region Alexander Moor and the President of the Russian Biathlon Union Vladimir Drachev that took place on Friday, December 7, in the Pearl of Siberia Winter Sports Center.

The meeting was also attended by RBU Sports Vice-President Sergey Chepikov, Deputy Governor Olga Kuznechevskikh, Director of the Physical Education, Sports and Supplementary Education Department of the Tyumen Region Dmitry Gramotin, as well as Head of the regional federation of ski racing and biathlon Mikhail Ilii and Director of Pearl of Siberia Anatoliy Emelianov.

The Head of the region stressed the importance of holding the major events in the regional winter sports center: “It is one of the three A-grade biathlon complexes in the country and it is known and loved by fans. Biathlon lovers from 20 regions came here to watch the latest competitions, so it should not be left out from the international schedule. That is why we form an application to hold this season’s Champions Race. We plan to host it in early April and invite both biathletes and skiers: we already used such a format of the competition and the public enjoyed it”, said Alexander Moor, ensuring the Head of the RBU that the competitions will be organized at the highest level possible.

“The Tyumen region has vast experience in hosting the sports events at the largest scale, rich biathlon traditions and one of the world’s best biathlon stadiums. I believe that Tyumen will successfully cope with the task of hosting the competitions. We are ready to send an application from the region to the IBU already at our next meeting with the representatives of the International biathlon Union”, said Vladimir Drachev, adding that the Tyumen region is the base region for the training of Russian national biathlon team and for the holding of major competitions. He expressed confidence that the existing infrastructure must be used comprehensively throughout the year.

The sides discussed possibilities for strengthening and expanding economic and cultural ties, the results of the visit of the delegation of the Franco-Russian Chamber of Commerce to Ugra, where agreements were reached on enhancing cooperation. In particular, ARMO and TechnipFMC companies were invited to become residents of the high-tech technology park.

In addition, Ugra side proposed to the French company Legrand, which is engaged in production of electrical products, to launch production in the industrial park in Surgut.

During the conversation, it was noted that another important area of ​​partnership is cooperation of Ugra higher education institutions with French universities. For example, agreements between Ugra State University and Versailles-Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines University, Surgut State Pedagogical University and the French Embassy in Russia about joining the network of language partners are already in force.

Natalia Komarova invited Mrs. Bermann to take part in international events held in Ugra in 2019: the Spirit of Fire Debut Film Festival, Ugra Industrial Forum, Save and Preserve environmental campaign, an international IT forum with the participation of the BRICS and SCO countries, humanitarian forum “Civil Initiatives of the Regions of 60th Parallel.”

On the very first day, event sponsors organized a guided tour of Sabetta for all attendees and members of the Living in the North contest’s international jury. The town of Sabetta is in the northeastern section of the Yamal Peninsula on the shore of the Gulf of Ob.

Journalists were escorted to Russia’s largest Yamal LNG liquefied natural gas plant. The works currently employs about 11,000 workers and continues to expand. Today, the plant has three production lines with a total capacity of 16.5 million metric tons. The first line was launched in 2017, followed by the second one this year, and the third is to start operating in 2019.

The plant resembles a small town with its own international airport that can receive helicopters, passenger airliners and cargo planes. It also has a hospital, dormitories, a sports facility and a power plant.

On the evening of December 9, the delegation left for Salekhard, where the Arctic Media World congress and the Living in the North awards ceremony were due to open. While riding from the airport, the guests took part in an official ceremony marking the crossing of the Arctic Circle near the 66th Parallel stele/obelisk and visited a fair with traditional goods at Fort Obdorsky.
