On May 24, the Governor of the Tyumen region Vladimir Yakushev met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cyprus in Russia Georgios Kasulidis.

“Tyumen people like to rest in Cyprus. Over the past three years, the country was visited by 30 thousand inhabitants of the region. An important role is played by direct flights, charter flights, which will only grow in the renewed Tyumen airport of Roshchino. Our region actively works with investors in all spheres. Cyprus has all the conditions to develop tourism: history, culture, climate. But, despite the fact that Siberia is not so warm, it is no less attractive to tourists: the history of the region, vast expanses, beautiful nature, thermal springs. Recently, we are actively developing areas that attract interest from tourists, including foreign ones, creating demanded routes and programs, “said Vladimir Yakushev.

The head of the region expressed a number of proposals for the development of mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation between the countries. In particular, the implementation of business projects for the creation of recreational areas with the use of mineral resources, which are rich in Tyumen land, interaction in the light and food industry, the development of educational programs, student exchange.

“If I say that I’m impressed, then I will not say anything. I travel a lot, visit different regions of Russia, meet with many people. The Tyumen region struck me to the depths of my soul. I saw great professionalism, how the Tyumen people devote themselves to their favorite business. With my colleagues we have already discussed and will return to Tyumen with a large business delegation, hold meetings on the topic “Investments – education – business”. I am confident that we can expand cooperation, including in the sphere of tourism: hunting, thermal springs, excursion tours related to the history of the region. The educational sphere also has great potential, “Georgios Kasoulidis said.

He showed confidence that a meeting with the governor would be a good start to business and power relations between the Tyumen Oblast and the Republic of Cyprus.
