The increase was achieved thanks to processing industries which rose to 104.9%. Good dynamics is shown by wood processing and production of wood products – over 115%, paper and paper products production – almost 117%, food production – 106.8%, metallurgical production – 109.7%, etc.
Coefficients of electric power, gas and steam supply, air conditioning and water supply, water disposal, organization of waste collection and utilization, pollution control activities are equal to 109.4%.
We add that in the Tyumen region over the past decade the industrial production index has grown three-fold. In fact, new industries appeared in the region, represented by new industrial enterprises with modern technologies and high labor productivity – oil refining, oil and gas chemistry and large-scale production of polymers and their processing, ferrous metallurgy for the construction and engineering industries, glass production, biotechnology production.
The volume of investments in fixed assets for 10 years has grown more than 3 times. In the last three years alone, 25 new large industrial enterprises have been opened, 7 of which – with the participation of foreign capital, several hundreds of small and medium-sized businesses have appeared, with the support of the regional government created about 10,000 jobs.
