“According to Rosstat, total fixed capital investment volumes reached almost 1.5 trillion rubles (1,496,348,000,000 rubles) in the Russian Arctic last year. Fixed capital investment totaled 1,076,770,000,000 rubles in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area, accounting for 72 percent of the total sum,” the press service noted.
Most investment went into buildings and structures. According to the Yamal-Nenets government, the entire Russian Arctic region received 1,119,307,000,000 rubles for maintaining buildings and structures or 74.8 percent of the grand total. The Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area allocated 904,360,000,000 rubles, or 84 percent of total regional investment, for this purpose.
